9jaflaver Meets A Fast Rising Female Music Artiste “Nan-C” (The Interview)

Fast rising music artiste Nan-C whose real name is Nancy Osarumwense Evbuomwan from edo state meets with 9jaflaver as we have some couple of questions for her concerning her music career…

Download here

Questionnaire:- How long have you being really into music

Nan-C:- Music has been there since my childhood, really, but professionally, started 2016, when I dropped “Instance”

Questionnaire:- And what are the biggest challenges in your music career?

Nan-C:- Currently I’m an independent artiste, that alone, you know is a little challenging. As an independent artiste, it takes a whole lot of courage to push through with your music

Questionnaire:- Had they ever been a time when you felt like quiting music?

Nan-C:- Laughs… Yes, severally actually, especially earlier when it felt like I wasn’t really getting enough support I needed. You know, I think this happens to every upcoming artiste

Questionnaire:- And what could those supports be?

Nan-C:- Financial support, basically, psychological support sometimes

Questionnaire:- As a lady into music, how do people very close to you feel about it, especially your family?

Nan-C:- Lol. People into entertainment generally are usually regarded as “irresponsible.” Female entertainers are mostly seen that way, for example, I had to block my dad from all my social media, so he won’t see what I, because definitely he’s going to regard it as “irresponsible”, As time goes on, definitely he’s going to learn to appreciate it, Or accept it rather

Questionnaire:- Have you ever done anything crazy for the major purpose of promoting your music career?

Nan-C:- Lol. I remember kneeling down for an OAP to get an airplay to my song

Questionnaire:- Have you experienced any form of sexual harrasment or attempt to since you embarked on your music hustle journey?, or have you ever been uncomfortable with the way some music promoters approaches you with support?

Nan-C:- Lol. I think every female artiste at some point must have experience that, I have experienced that as some point, as a lady

Questionnaire:- Has that ever made you limit the way you approach them for support?

Nan-C:- It all depends. Sometimes, it does limit me, lol

Questionnaire:- How do you view Nigerian music?

Nan-C:- The Nigerian music is grown from the level it was, as regards development, then as regards lyrics tho, we all know how it is these days, but I think it all depends on what the crowd want, some fans, if not most, tend to be pretty interested in quality and beats over lyrics, while we still have some relaxed people who are very interested in lyrics over beats. So I think it all depends, as an artiste on the kinda music you do, But generally, I think that whatever genre or kind of music you do, as an artiste, you’ll definitely have listeners. I mean, Johnny Drille, Asa, Simi, these people have a huge community of listeners

Questionnaire:- How do music inspirations come to you, In the kitchen like most ladies, or maybe in the shower? Lol

Nan-C:- Lol. Life experiences, mood, mine isn’t really that way, major mood and experiences like my previous single, was written with the mood was

Questionnaire:- So to get this clear, If you are not happy, you don’t write a happy song, but the other way instead?

Nan-C:- Yeah, exactly, it’s mostly about my mood

Questionnaire:- Does that mean you write song that carries sad mood

Nan-C:- I’m not always in a sad mood

Questionnaire:- Or you dont write songs when you are in a sad mood, because phsycologically every human being must come across such mood one point or the other in his or her life

Nan-C:- As humans, we experience different mood, sad, happy, tipsy, etc, so, when I’m sad, I could also write a sad song

Questionnaire:- Have you ever written a sad song?

Nan-C:- Yes, I have

Questionnaire:- You released the song to the public?

Nan-C:- I have not released it yet

Questionnaire:- About your current single, na love, what inspired you to write the song?

Nan-C:- Lol. Just picture a bad girl falling in love, I’ve had situations when I had feelings for someone, but not really sure if it’s love or just a crush, Because, I’m actually the type of girl who isn’t quick to judge feelings if it’s love or not, So, as it was taken longer, the feelings were still there, so at that point I was like “E be like say Na Love”

Questionnaire:- So love can be differentiated from crush, are they not the same thing?

Nan-C:- Naaah, never the same thing, they are different

Questionnaire:- Is it not when you love someone that eventually make you crush on them?

Nan-C:- A crush could lead to love, that’s how I see it, a crush doesn’t really last long

Questionnaire:- Are u still an undergraduate or maybe a graduate?

Nan-C:- I’m a graduate, a graduate of Delta State University, Abraka

Questionnaire:- So how where you able to cope with the whole music stuffs and education while in school? Or did you place your music career on a low key while in school then?

Nan-C:- I actually had to place my music career on a low-key, basically because the kind of course I studied required my full attention, i’m not really good at dividing my attention, I was just with the campus choir back in school, even though I actually knew what I really wanted to do (mainstream)

Questionnaire:- Who do you look up to when it comes to mentor-ship

Nan-C:- A lot of people inspire me, I’d prefer to say I was inspired by them

Questionnaire:- Can we know who they are?

Nan-C:- Lauryn Hill, Diana King, Rihanna, Destiny’s child, Alicia Keys is one lady a looked up to too, I don’t really have a particular person cause I’m a fan of so many people, especially people who inspire me

Questionnaire:- And who’s your favorite Nigerian music artiste?

Nan-C:- I love Wizkid because he’s very talented, Tiwa Savage inspires me to cause I also intend to stay long in music as her, She’s very consistent and hardworking, which makes me compare her to Rihanna, I love them both because they are very consistent with their music, and I intend to be that way too, I think they both have some good lyric content too, I also like Mr. Eazi and Kiss Daniel

Questionnaire:- If you should come across the opportunity to do a colaboration with one of these music artistes you just mentioned, who would that be?

Nan-C:- I’ll really love to work with Kiss Daniel

Questionnaire:- Why kiss daniel?

Nan-C:- He’s one very talented artiste, I admire him and Runtown. How could I have forgotten Runtown, I’d really love to work with Kiss Daniel an Runtown sometime soon

Questionnaire:- What will your next single be like? Give us a clue

Nan-C:- Lol. I like surprises

Questionnaire:- Na love is already hitting clubs, should we be expecting like a pure dancehall jam next?

Nan-C:- You’ll get to findout, but just know it’s banging, my next single is definitely a dance hall song, not that Jamaican “dancehall” tho, 9ja kinda dance hall though, but like I said, I like surprises

Questionnaire:- It’s nice having you around Nan-C, Thank you for your attention

Nan-C:- And thanks for having me
