A referee was brutally attacked by an enraged player after he sent off his teammate in goal. A footage shared online shows Miralbueno hosting San Juan in a regional league game in Zaragoza, Spain when the 18-year-old referee apparently awards a stonewall penalty to the away side.
The referee then gives the keeper his marching orders with a second yellow card – prompting his teammate to become violently enraged, according to Heraldo .
The footage shows the man charging at the teenager and sucker punching him in the side of the head, knocking him to the ground hard.
The 18-year-old appears stunned while trying to defend himself before the Miralbueno player stands over his body and punches him a second time.
Heraldo reported that the referee decided to carry on officiating the game after the assault, adding that Miralbueno have since banned the player involved.
