West Brom will make another bid to sign Jay Rodriguez on loan in January, reports the Daily Telegraph.
The Baggies attempted to sign the Southampton forward last summer but were knocked back by Claude Puel.
Rodriguez, 27, was a Pulis target in the summer but Southampton opted to keep him after promising him first-team opportunities under Claude Puel.
Salomon Rondon and Hal Robson-Kanu have been the only senior strikers available to West Brom for months, with Saido Berahino struggling with form and fitness and Rickie Lambert having left for Cardiff.
“We’ll be looking to bring one or two in in the window,” he said. “I think it’s important that people realise that we want to move forward and push on.
“I think you’re always looking to get better players in than what you’ve got irrespective of who is in the team and the group. If players become available and they’re better than what you’ve got at the right price and the right age then I think you should be in the market and trying to do the business if you can.”
